Abstract
In the phenomenon of dual professions carried out by the bearers of the
legal profession, there are also practitioners of the legal profession who carry out
the profession as advocates, it turns out that they carry out multiple professions as
lecturers or teaching staff at a university, either in the law faculty, notary masters
program or other programs. other postgraduates. Carrying concurrent positions or
professions can also apply the other way around, meaning that lecturers also have
concurrent professions as advocates. The concurrent position or profession as an
advocate and also as a lecturer or teaching staff sometimes raises doubts about
whether or not the concurrent position as a lecturer or teaching staff is allowed and
vice versa whether or not a lecturer may or may not serve as an advocate This doubt
has the potential to lead to a debate that sometimes leads to conditions of legal
uncertainty. In this study, the author uses the type of normative research or library
research method (library research). Legal research conducted by examining library
materials or secondary data, can be called normative legal research or library
research. Advocates can become lecturers, of course, non-PNS lecturers. PNS
lecturers, PNS DPK lecturers as well as non-PNS PTN lecturers with PPPK status
cannot become advocates, because their employment status is subject to Law
Number 5 of 2014 concerning State Civil Apparatus and Government Regulation
Number 53 of 2010 concerning Employee Discipline. Civil State.
